I was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico. My Mother, Aida
and my Father, Efrain Muņoz, were also born in Puerto Rico. My family
migrated to New York City when I was about three years old and settled
for the first time in Manhattan, on 110th Street and Park Avenue. For
the first six years in New York, we moved from place to place about
five or six times but each time it would be an upgrade. The place I called my
home, during my younger years, was The Bronx, since I lived there for
over three years, with my Mother and Stepfather, Felix Siso (Daddy),
before moving to Kansas City, MO. We lived in Kansas City for two years
or so and then moved back to The Bronx where I graduated from PS 75
Elementary School.
I entered Samuel Gompers Vocational & Technical High School
and I studied in the Technical aspect of Radio & TV. After High School, I
joined the Navy and went boot camp in Bainbridge Maryland. Next,
I went to Sonar School in Key West Florida. Upon completion of
Sonar School, I went to Submarine School in New London
Connecticut. Following Submarine School, I attended Submarine Sonar School,
also in New London. My next assignment was to a submarine, the USS GRAMPUS
(SS-523). Upon discharge, I worked for Link Radio for about a year
and the entered State University at Farmingdale in New York. At
this time, my Dad and Mother were living in Hicksville, NY, so I
commuted to the University. Upon graduation, General Electric Company,
in the heavy military electronics section in Syracuse, NY, employed me.
I worked for GE for two years. Moving back to Long Island and I
received a position at Brookhaven National Lab, a nuclear research
center. I had six children and now there are 15 grandchildren. I remained at
the Brookhaven position for over 37 years. In 1997, I retired and I moved to
Myrtle Beach, SC, where I live in peace and harmony.
